4 Days Post GEODE-Release
Well, didn't really think I'd be making a post like this.
node scripts/create-post.js
I released GEODE June 1st, so it's been about 5 days since then.
As of writing this, the game has 218 downloads, and 11 reviews on the steam page, all of them positive.
These numbers aren't huge by any standard means, but wow, it's more than I was expecting so soon. Deep down I was expecting maybe two dozen downloads, a positive review, and maybe a negative one. People have been really supportive of the game, and a lot of the reviews/feedback seem to have a similar message, which is basically:
"The game is cool and I like the idea, but I wish there was more to do"
It's given me a lot of motivation to continue developing the game, which I really didn't think I would have. I was pretty mentally prepared to move on from this project because it felt like it was becoming a waste of time, but looks like I've got some work to do!
Really really happy and proud of what this whole process has been, and I now know in even more depth that this is what I want to do. Make games and interact with the community!
Anyways, just wanted to give a little update on my thoughts. Also, yesterday I spiked a volleyball too hard and completely dislocated my right shoulder. Spent a few hours in the ER, they had to put me to sleep to pop it back in. This has been quite the week.
Thanks for reading! -Quincy \ PhD
